The inscriptions along the rim framed by a circle of dots: at the top — «3 РУБЛЯ 1993 г.» (3 RUBLES 1993), at the bottom — "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). - Anna Pavlova (1881-1931), a Russian ballet dancer, graduated from the St. Petersburg Theatre School in 1889 and was taken on to the Mariinsky Theatre. Her remarkable talent of a classical dancer blossomed in ballets and concert numbers staged by the best choreographers of the time. Her rendition of Saint-Saёns' "The Dying Swan" became a legend. The leading ballerina of the Ballets Russes in Paris, Anna Pavlova later organised her own troupe, which made a great contribution to the development of ballet. - The artist: A.V.
