Rosa de los Vientos (Wind Rose) was the name given to navigation maps on America's Discovery times. Juan de la Cosa, was owner and captain of vessel "Santa María" (left his position to Columbus on the Discovery trip).
De la Cosa made the oldest known navigation map including New World on 1500, and was a main contributor to 1st. and 2nd. Columbus trips to America. He died from poisoned arrow of natives on 2nd. trip.
