The theme treated in this coin presents the Albanian art as a special social activity which began with the establishment of the slave-owning system in the 7th century B.C. - 6th century A.D. The main centres of antiquity were the Illyrian cities, such as Bylis, Amatia, Foinik, Butrot, etc, and the Helen settlements: Dyrrah, Apollonia, and Orik. In the Helen settlements, art is presented related to the archaic Corinthian and Korkyra tradition, brought from the parent cities in the 7th-6th century B.C. The local sculpture began in Apollonia and Dyrrah in the 6th century B.C. In Durrës were found incomplete sculptures made of stone. Later on (1st-2nd century A.D.) features of the roman art were integrated, especially in sculpture. Obverse: In the centre of the coin a picture of the ancient coin found in Apollonia. Above the coin there is the inscription "Ancient coin of the 4th century B.C., found in Apollonia"; below the coin there is its nominal value 20 Lekë.
